For those of your that only know one of us, here's some tidbits on us!
Where did we meet?
We met in 2013 through a mutual friend in Ashland, OR. Shortly after, Michael started working at the same restaurant as me (Standing Stone Brewing Company). We quickly bonded as friends through our mutual love of bikes and became cycling buddies.
When did you start dating?
While we were both aware of our chemistry early on in our friendship, we were seeing other people at the time when we met. I also had a strict "no coworkers" dating rule and did not want to lead Michael on when we were working together. In early 2014, I moved to Portland to wait tables and that is when our dating relationship blossomed. In February, Michael visited me for my birthday and we went on our first date at a Portland Trail Blazers game.
When did Michael propose?
We had been very open and transparent throughout the process to becoming engaged. Since early 2015, we had been in discussion about getting married, which became serious by the end of summer. What held us back was the right timing for Michael to move north and join me in Portland, where I am going to graduate school. When Michael secured a job in January, we knew it was time to move forward and quickly approached parents on both sides for permission. Michael proposed eagerly in early March, when our special order ring arrived, running out to meet me at my car one evening when he drove up to see me. Overjoyed, I said yes.
